The nutrient and caloric requirements estimator is designed to provide enough of the vital nutrients to keep you out of starvation mode while you are on an exercise program.  It is designed to be used with a proper weight training and cardiovascular exercise program. On its own, it will provide enough calories to maintain your weight.   When combined with regular exercise of the right duration, intensity, frequency, and type, it should increase your lean mass while providing a small amount of fat loss. This will increase your muscular definition without you getting much smaller. Because it involves a less drastic reduction in calories, it is easier to follow than a traditional fat loss program. The length of time required to lose fat also means that it is more likely to form lifetime habits.  It is not suitable for people who weigh less than 100 lbs, have a lean mass of less than 90 lbs, or have a percentage body fat of less than 3 percent.
