Basal
Metabolic Rate
This basal metabolic rate calculator uses the
McArdle
& Katch formula which is based on your lean mass. It
calculates your lean mass based on your weight and percentage
body fat. There is no entry for age or gender because the
differences in resting metabolic rates in both of these cases can
be attributed to the differences in lean mass.
Nutrient and Caloric Requirements For Fat Loss
The nutrient and caloric requirements estimator is
designed to provide enough of the vital nutrients to keep you out of
starvation mode while you are on an exercise program. It is
also designed to provide a caloric deficit even if you are performing little or no
exercise. When combined with regular exercise of the
right duration, intensity, frequency, and type, it should
provide between 1 and 2 pounds of fat loss per week. It is
not suitable for people who weigh less than 110 lbs, have a lean
mass of less than 100 lbs, or have a percentage body fat of less
than 3 percent.
